Mylissa is the head Veterinary Technician at the Northway Animal Emergency Clinic.  She was promoted to the position in late 2007 after having worked as a veterinary technician with the practice for over a year.  She graduated from SUNY Canton in 2004 with an AAS in veterinary technology and received her professional Veterinary Technician license in 2005.  She then continued her education, graduating from SUNY Albany in 2007 with a major in Biology and minor in Business.  Mylissa has a strong passion for anesthesia and pain management and became a Certified Veterinary Pain Practitioner (CVPP) in 2015.  She is also a VTS candidate in emergency and critical care.  Other professional memberships include NYSAVT, IVAPM, & AVECCT.  In her spare time, Mylissa enjoys metalsmithing, welding sculptures and homewares, gardening, and spending time with her fiancée, Adam, and her daughter, Finley.  Her current menagerie includes a German Shepard, “Veka”, a chihuahua, “Chiko”, two frisky felines, “Penz” & Binx, an axolotl, “Herbie”, and a clutch of backyard chickens
